9. Welcome to the HNK
The whole anime series revolves around the idea of healing and health. The main character is a young lad by the name, Satou. Satou is a twenty-two year old guy who has been affected with the hikikomori. A few episodes down the road, he meets Misaki, a women who claims she can help cure him of his problem. Accepting after much withdrawal, Satou begins to interact with Misaki. The HNK anime series soon touches on family problems, values and meaning.
8. Ergo Proxy
The anime series Ergo Proxy takes place sometime in the future, where the world has been torn apart through a vast number of nuclear submissions. After a nuclear apocolypse, the only city that still strives with human beings is Romdeau. The city is not vastly populated, but it still has a siginificant amount of habitants. The complete series is based on science fiction and philosophy. If you are a marvel lover, you will truly want to see this.
7. Kaiba
The Kaiba series begins with a man who wakes up in the middle of nowhere, in a torn up room. He has lost his complete memory, and does not remember a thing. He then becomes the victim of an assault, and he soon moves into the space. During his flagship in space, he meets with many different people, of whom remind him of who he is. The Kaiba series is all about recollection and memory retrieval through unprecidented events. Each series takes you through a twenty-three minute world of fantasy.
6. Mushishi
The young lad in the series travels to find out more information about the mushi. The young lad goes by the name, Ginko and he himself is a Mushishi. The world of Ginko is a complete fantasy, as they bring in the concept of witchcraft, magic and illusions. Ginko does so much on his part to find out information about the Mushi, but he always ends up in some kind of dilemma. His path through the dilemma makes the series as good as it sounds.
5. Samurai Chaploo
The series starts off by showing a waitress who works at a local restaurant. She is in search of a samurai, and she gets two individuals to help her out. All they know about the samurai is that it smells like sunflowers. Using only this clue, they travel among the city to find the samurai. Along the series, all the charatcers build a strogner relationship. The relationship does get personal, but they stay strong and on route.
4. Kaiji
There is a gambling ship called the Espoir. Kaiji, the main character is given the chance to take the ship. He is given the chance, because it will clear his debt. He takes this chance as he knows this is the only way he could clear his debt. Kaiji also has the feeling that he may never come back again, so he does accept the offer. There is a complete thrill of gambling and betting on the ship, and it completely changes how Kaiji is. If you like thriller series, this one would really wow you.
3. Paranoia Agent
The main character in the series is put on as a shouen bat, who has been going around the city attacking and killing people. This young kid simply has no idea on what is coming at him. Little does he know what is going to happen to him as this continues. All in all, he is an elementary school student. The main character uses his bent golden bat to go around killing people. There are two investigators who follow him around, looking at everything he is doing. Each episode is about twenty-five minutes in length. There is a great twist in the series as more events take place during the remainder of it.
2. Haibane Renmei
The episode starts with a baby girl who is born on a special day. She is known as Rakka and she is a Haibane, which is known as an angel. She wakes up in an unknown world, where she has just awaken from a long lasting dream. All she remembers is falling from the sky, and nothing else. The city and world are both peaceful with no outside forces. As more of the series comes to play, there are more rules that are created. The girl spends her time in the city looking for answers to her personal life questions.

This is by far one of the most watched and most loved anime and manga series on the planet. Every single anime lover must have heard of the Naruto series. This series originally began as a manga written episode, but then was later illustrated into a TV series. The series has gone through hundreds of episodes, but it still has not reached the main climax of it. The Naruto episode first aired in 1999, and it has been running ever since then.
