How in the world can the United Statescondemn other nations for how they are handling their protest movements when we treat our own protesters so brutally?  No matter what you may think of Occupy Wall Street and the other protest movements that have sprung up across the United States, the truth is that you should be incredibly alarmed about the tactics that law enforcement authorities are choosing to use against them.  If we decide to accept these tactics now, then the exact same “police state” tactics will be used againstyou when the time comes that you want to protest against the government.  In recent weeks, we have seen law enforcement authorities brutally dragging femaleprotesters to the ground by their hair.  We have also seen them use pepper spray, tear gas, rubber bullets and flash-bang stun grenades against protesters.  If this is how protesters are going to be dealt with from now in America, then we have completely lost the moral high ground.  How will we ever get other nations to take us seriously when we criticize their brutality against protesters when we are so brutal ourselves?

Yes, the Occupy Wall Street protesters have attempted to occupy some places that they are legally not allowed to occupy.  Yes, some Occupy Wall Street protesters have done some things that warrant arrest.  But that does not mean that the police have to act like they are working for Hitler, Mao or Stalin.

Yes, police have a very hard job.  But there is no excuse for thepolice brutality that we have seen happen all over the nation recently.  The police can enforce the laws and treat us all with gentleness and respect at the same time.  If there are any police out there that do not believe that they can do this, then they should quit their jobs.  There are lots of other people willing to fill them.

How in the world can such brutality be justified?

Another brutal incident that made headlines all over the nation recently is shown in the next video posted below.  In the video, you can see police brutally dragging three women by their hair to the ground.

One of the women is UCB English Professor Celeste Langan.  She actually offered her wrists to the police and told them that they could arrest her, but that wasn’t enough “fun” for the police.  Instead, they yanked her by the hair and threw her to the ground.  Then they did the same thing to two other women….-

But it is not just at Occupy Wall Street protests where we are seeing these kinds of tactics.

For example, LRAD sound cannons are now being used by law enforcement authorities all over the United States.  If you have never encountered an LRAD sound cannon, you should be thankful.  They are absolutely brutal.

Exactly how much “damage” can an LRAD sound cannon do?  Well, it turns out that they can actually do an immense amount of damage.  The following is how Alternet recently described these weapons….

The Long Range Acoustic Device, or LRAD, built by American Technology Corporation, focuses and broadcasts sound over ranges of up to hundreds of yards. LRAD has been around for years, but Americans first took notice when police used it in Pittsburgh to ward off protesters at the 2009 G-20 summit. It is generally used in two ways: as a megaphone to order protesters to disperse; or, if they disobey, as an “ear-splitting siren” to drive them away. While LRAD may not be deadly, it can permanently damage hearing, depending on how it’s used.

LRAD sound cannons can be incredibly deadly.  According to Wikipedia, they can “destroy the eardrums” and while they are supposed to be non-lethal the reality is that they can “kill under certain conditions“.

If you get too close to an LRAD sound cannon while it is in use, permanent damage can result.  Small children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable.

Sadly, these vicious weapons are now being used in a wide range of situations.  As the video below shows, an LRAD sound cannon was actually used to help break up a college block party near Western IllinoisUniversity earlier this year….

This kind of stuff didn’t happen in America back in the old days.

Is this what we are degenerating into?

Should we just accept that our future is going to be filled with pepper spray, tear gas, rubber bullets, LRAD sound cannons and lots of police brutality?

Yes, our society is becoming incredibly unstable.  But when law enforcement authorities do crazy stuff like this it just adds fuel to the fire.

Another major U.S. financial crisis is coming.  Unemployment is going to go even higher.  The economic crisis is going to get a lot worse.  The protests in our streets are going to grow larger and more intense.

So will cooler heads prevail, or will confrontations between protesters and police become even more brutal and even more violent?

Once again, I am not defending all of the behavior of these protesters.  Neither am I defending the things that all of them stand for.

However, the brutal crackdown that we have seen in recent weeks is an attack on all of us.  The message that is being sent is that if you decide to stand up and say something in America today, you might be the next one to get pepper spray in the face or a boot on your neck.

America is becoming a much different place.  All over America hearts are growing cold.  It has become “normal” to be brutal and cruel to others.

How Protesters Become Terrorists ...

More and more lately, it seems I find myself asking the question just how and when the ‘Occupy’protesters in the U.S. will be considered a threat to America’s Homeland Security? And then of course, treated as such. Surely I am not off in the wilderness in literally feeling such an eventuality all but inevitable? It’s hard for one in fact, not to imagine that our Federal Government’s outrageously overzealous “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign has been perfectly tailored to include those who are presently demonstrating in the streets of America against economic injustice and inequality. After all, aren’t explosive devices or chemical agents small and powerful enough to fit neatly into some ‘hippy’ backpack these days?

Naturally, the line of thought here embarked upon vis-à-vis a government so eagerly paranoid to keep Americans safe and increasingly hell-bent on conducting witch hunt-like, intrusive domestic counter-terrorismpolicies; not to mention, being overly enthralled with its own Military Industrial Complex, leads one to further postulate that there are at least a few pesky laws in place to protect an individual’s right to free speech and/or constitutional civil liberties, which very well might be evaded or suspended by politicians or police should the supposed threat which faces certain corrupt folks in lofty positions of money and power, conveniently morph into ‘national security’ issues. Creating a situation, of course, which obviously amounts to taking what have been up to this point, relatively peaceful protesters or demonstrations and thwarting or crushing their existence, as being terror-related?

There are some thoughtful Americans who believe that a so-called ‘lone wolf’, alleged terrorist suspect (supposedly under surveillance for two and-a-half years) arrested by New York City Police recently, was but a mere, good old-fashioned, war on terror ‘patsy’, and that the cash and organization for his supposed plot; evidently foiled via the services of a paid FBI informant; as has been reported, was actually provided by none other that the U.S. Government. And so as fate would have it, supposedly, and quite suitably enough for the Mayor of New York City – as a result of this particular obscure and isolated ‘terrorist’ incident and/or apparent bit of federal entrapment, there next comes the disproportionate repercussion from Michael Bloomberg reportedly of deploying at least 1000 extra ‘counter-terrorism’ police to be on stand-by (one must assume) even within the very midst of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement?

Should this strategy taking place via Bloomberg to protect the corporate interests of Wall Street ripen to fruition, then I don’t know about anyone else, but I will find his excuse for installing an army and near police state in the heart of America’s biggest city; during an ongoing protest movement to protect New Yorker’s from some elusive and abstract so-called terror threat, to be just a whole lot of ill-conceived, very dangerous, patronizing bullshit. I am not that gullible a fool, nor stupid enough an American citizen, thank you very much. Are you? The very last person this woefully deceitful ‘Nanny’ of a Mayor of New York, seeks to protect, is an ordinary New Yorker.

Not surprisingly, given the victory that terrorists have already achieved over the American psyche, at least in Tampa, Florida, – where a not so bright public servant had the silly enough idea to roll out a tank out of the garage in response to a few dozen ‘Occupiers’, we have all been shown the writing on the wall, so to speak, and just how the corporate status quo intends to proceed in the end with the threat to its security and foundation, ahead of time.

New Obama Law Warned Will Jail 500,000 Americans ...

Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin today are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth byPresident Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government.

Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.

First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.

In what is called the National Security Strategy document, that is required of US Presidents by their Congress, that embraces the dictatorial ideals of the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”, Obama has ordered his Federal police and intelligence forces to begin targeting Americans opposed to him and his radical socialist polices.

Obama’s top counter-terrorism advisor, John Brennan, in speaking to reporters about this new “strategy” says it makes the problem of home-grown terrorists a top priority because an increasing number of individuals in the US have become “captivated by extremist ideology or causes.”

The Times of London is further reporting that Obama’s new National Security Strategy “officially” endsAmerica’s “War on Terror” in what they call “a sweeping repudiation of the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive military strikes.”

And as Obama begins re-focusing his forces from fighting America’s foreign enemies, to those opposed to him in his own country, it is important to remember the warning about this new law given by the former CIA official, Philip Giraldi, who had previously warned of the Bush-Cheney plan to attack Iran with nuclear weapons, and who said:

“The mainstream media has made no effort to inform the public of the impending Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. The Act, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Jane Harman of California, was passed in the House by an overwhelming 405 to 6 vote on October 24th and is now awaiting approval by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, which is headed by Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut.

Harman’s bill contends that the United States will soon have to deal with home grown terrorists and that something must be done to anticipate and neutralize the problem. The act deals with the issue through the creation of a congressional commission that will be empowered to hold hearings, conduct investigations, and designate various groups as “homegrown terrorists.”

The commission will be tasked to propose new legislation that will enable the government to take punitive action against both the groups and the individuals who are affiliated with them. Like Joe McCarthy and HUAC in the past, the commission will travel around the United States and hold hearings to find the terrorists and root them out.

Unlike inquiries in the past where the activity was carried out collectively, the act establishing the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Commission will empower all the members on the commission to arrange hearings, obtain testimony, and even to administer oaths to witnesses, meaning that multiple hearings could be running simultaneously in various parts of the country.

The ten commission members will be selected for their “expertise,” though most will be appointed by Congress itself and will reflect the usual political interests. They will be paid for their duties at the senior executive pay scale level and will have staffs and consultants to assist them.

Harman’s bill does not spell out terrorist behavior and leaves it up to the Commission itself to identify what is terrorism and what isn’t.

Language inserted in the act does partially define “homegrown terrorism” as “planning” or “threatening” to use force to promote a political objective, meaning that just thinking about doing something could be enough to merit the terrorist label.

The act also describes “violent radicalization” as the promotion of an “extremist belief system” without attempting to define “extremist.”

As an example of those American’s Obama will be targeting, Giraldi further writes that The Simon Wiesenthal Center, in testifying before the US Congress in support of this new law, swore that an organization called “Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth” was an example of a homegrown terrorist organization, leading one Russian diplomat in this report to state “If 1,200 of America’s top architectural and engineering professionals are deemed terrorists simply  because they question their governments propaganda than truly no one is safe in the United States anymore”.

As another example of how dictatorial the Obama regime has become, and as the Gulf of Mexico oil debacle has now become the worst ecological disaster our World has ever seen, the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, this past week slammed American reporters for “asking too many questions about BP”.  Leading one to ask that if Obama’s regime can’t be asked about this disaster, what can they be asked about?

The answer is apparently none, as Obama himself, just this past week, in announcing his signing of a new law called the Press Freedom Act refused to answer any reporters questions and abruptly left them standing in stupefaction over the irony an ordeal that shows how far America has fallen.

Another irony apparently lost upon the American people is that their President Obama, who has been dubbed“The Great Communicator”, now holds the dubious distinction of having held less press conferences than any American President in modern history.  And if yesterday’s press conference, his first in nearly a year, was any example one can see why as incredulous press corps was left astounded that Obama had no knowledge of the firing/resignation of one of his top officials.

In all of these events one fact, beyond all others, stands out….in what was once called “The Land of the Free, And the Home of the Brave”…..the United States today has become “The Land Of Slave, And the Home of the Coward”….and these Americans have only themselves to blame.

The Police State Vs. Occupy Wall Street: This Is Not Going To End Well For Any Of Us ...

Right now, we are watching the early rounds of a heavyweight fight between two extremely determined opponents.  Occupy Wall Street has no plans of losing this fight and neither do law enforcement authorities.  Perhaps those running the show actually believed that raiding Zuccotti Park and more than a dozen other “Occupy camps” around the nation would end these protests, but that is just not going to happen.  Whatever your opinion of Occupy Wall Street is, everyone should be able to agree that this is one dedicated bunch.  They are absolutely obsessed with their cause and in response to the recent raid on Zuccotti Park organizers are calling for “a national day of direct action” on Thursday.

But if Occupy Wall Street protesters want to take things to “the next level”, they should not underestimate the resolve of thepolice state.  Over the past decade, the homeland securityapparatus of the federal government has been slowly but surely turning this country into a “Big Brother” police state.  Today, our law enforcement authorities are obsessed with watching us, listening to us, tracking us, recording us, and gathering information on all of us.  We are constantly reminded that we live in a prison grid (just think about what they do to you before you are allowed on an airplane) and they are not about to put up with anyone challenging their authority or their control.  Have you even known parents that constantly feel the need to prove that they are “the boss” of their children?  Well, that is essentially what the homeland security apparatus in this country has become.  All over the United States, law enforcement personnel are taught that every American is a potential terrorist and they are actually trained to “act tough”, to bark orders at us and to not let anyone question their authority.  If OccupyWall Street believes that it can get the police state to “back down”, they are sorely mistaken.  Hopefully everyone will cool off a bit as the temperatures go down this winter.  But if we do see a “cooling off”, it probably will not last for long.  As the U.S. economy continues to get worse, these kinds of protests are going to keep growing and they will become even more intense.  Eventually, mass civil unrest will cause the streets of many of our major cities to closely resemble war zones.  When it is all said and done, this is not going to end well for any of us.

The stunning police raid of Zuccotti Park at 1 AM on Tuesday morning made headlines around the world. Protesters were hauled off, tents were cut down and garbage trucks hauled off the personal possessions of those that had been encamped there.  It was swift and it was brutal.

But it was just another in a long line of raids that we have seen over the past couple of weeks.  Occupy camps in Portland, Oakland, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta and several other cities have also been raided.

There is an increasing body of evidence that these raids have been coordinated.  For example, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan recently made the following statement during a recent interview about the Occupy movement….

I was recently on a conference call with 18 cities across the country who had the same situation

Does anyone want to guess who was running that conference call?

Heidi Bogosian, the executive director of the National Lawyers Guild, is convinced that the recent raids were coordinated at the federal level….

“We definitely feel, especially in a movement like this that has arisen so quickly in a number of cities, that there will be a coordinated national effort to try and shut it down”

Someone probably thought that cracking a few skulls and cutting up a few tents would probably make the hippies go away.

Yes, that might have worked in 1991.

But this is 2011.  Whether you agree with Occupy Wall Street or not, one thing that should be clear to all of us is that these boys and girls are deadly serious.

In response to the recent raids, organizers have declared “a national day of direct action” on Thursday.

One of the “major actions” being planned is a “shut down” of Wall Street.

Of course that will not happen because thousands of law enforcement personnel will be dispatched to protect Wall Street if necessary.

But what does seem clear is that Occupy Wall Street seems determined to take things to the next level.

In this video, a wild-eyed protester can be seen making the following statement….

“On the 17th, we gonna burn this city to the ************* ground.”

Later on in the video, the same protester makes an even more inflammatory statement….

“No more talking. They’ve got guns, we’ve got bottles. They’ve got bricks, we’ve got rocks…in a few days you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

That is a very frightening statement.

As I noted the other day, one recent survey found that 31 percent of all Occupy Wall Street protesters “would support violence to advance their agenda”.

Let us hope that cooler heads prevail and that we don’t see outbreaks of violence.

If we do see violence in the coming days, it will just give law enforcement authorities an excuse to crack down even harder.

Up to this point, local law enforcement authorities have been advised to seek “legal reasons” for evicting Occupy protesters.

Since just about everything is illegal in America today, that has not been too difficult.  So far “zoning laws”, “curfew rules” and regulations that target homeless people have been used as justifications to evict Occupy protesters.

In New York City, Mayor Bloomberg has said that protesters can gather in Zuccotti Park, but that “the rules” do not allow them to have tents, sleeping bags or any sort of heavy equipment.

So will the protesters go along with this, or will this turn into a prolonged struggle over Zuccotti Park?

It is hard to say, but one thing is for sure – police all over the nation have already shown that they are prepared to use brutal force against these protesters in order to get their way.

We have seen tear gas used, we have seen pepper spray cannons used, we have seen rubber bullets used and we have seen flash-bang stun grenades used.

And they are just warming up.  When it comes to protecting “national security”, there is a vast array of technologies and weapons that law enforcement authorities have at their disposal.

Many Americans are cheering the crackdown on these protesters, but we all should remember that real people are getting seriously injured.  For example, just check out this photo of 84-year-old Dorli Rainey after pepper spray was blasted directly into her face.

Rainey and several other Occupy Seattle protesters are still in the hospital.

A lot of people have been sent to the hospital already, and this is just the beginning.

One of the key things that the American people will need to understand is that they don’t have to pick sides.

When law enforcement authorities commit atrocities, we should denounce them.

When Occupy Wall Street protesters commit acts of violence or vandalism, we should denounce them.

It would be nice if all Occupy Wall Street protests would be 100% non-violent.

It would be nice if the police would be reasonable and would carry out their duties with gentleness and respect.

But sadly, those things are probably not going to happen.

The civil unrest we are seeing now is only the beginning.

Things are going to get a lot worse.

If things keep getting escalated to “the next level”, eventually we will see martial law imposed in some of our largest cities.

Don’t think that it can’t happen.

The United States is increasingly becoming a very unstable place.

As America comes apart at the seams, this is not going to end well for any of us.

Massive chaos, gridlock to be unleashed on NYC ...

Watch out New York City. The Occupy anti-capitalist movement is preparing to serve a three-course meal of so-called direct action that apparently includes the blocking of subways and bridges as well as shutting down the stock market.

The attempt to cause mass chaos, slated for Thursday, is tied to the Tides Center, the George Soros-financed group that funds far-left causes. Tides grantees have been helping to direct Occupy from the onset of the anti-Wall Street movement.

Occupy Wall Street is currently holding “Direct Action Preparation and Training” courses today and tomorrow in downtown Manhattan to gear up for Thursday’s round of riots.

The Occupy site announces: “Action Preparation & Training for November 17th, November 30th and Beyond.”

“Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America” exposes the extremists behind Occupy Wall Street

The training plan states it aims to “build affinity team, train to do actions and civil disobediences, meet new allies and friends and have some fun with us.”

The Take the Square website, a partner of Occupy, has posted Thursday’s agenda, outlining the radical plan as a three course meal of chaos.

“Breakfast,” slated for 7 a.m. Eastern, aims to “shut down Wall Street.”

The site says: “It’s time we put an end to Wall Street’s reign of terror and begin building an economy that works for all. We will gather in Liberty Square at 7 a.m., before the ring of the Trading Floor Bell, to prepare to confront Wall Street with the stories of people on the frontlines of economic injustice. There, before the Stock Exchange, we will exchange stories rather than stocks.”

“Lunch,” scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern, is titled “Occupy the subways.”

“We will start by Occupying Our Blocks! Then throughout the five boroughs, we will gather at 16 central subway hubs and take our own stories to the trains, using the ‘People’s Mic,’” the site states.

“Dinner,” slated for 5 p.m. Eastern, seeks to block bridges.

Continues the site: “At 5 p.m., tens of thousands of people will gather at Foley Square (just across from City Hall) in solidarity with laborers demanding jobs to rebuild this country’s infrastructure and economy. A gospel choir and a marching band will also be performing.

“Afterwards we will march to our bridges. Let’s make it as musical a march as possible – bring your songs, your voice, your spirit.”

As WND was first to report, the tactic of blocking bridges, already used by Occupy Wall Street to hold up the Brooklyn Bridge last month, was institutionalized by Stephen Lerner, a controversial anti-capitalist SEIU organizer.

Lerner has visited the White House four times. His former boss, Andy Stern, SEIU’s recently retired president, was the most frequent White House visitor in 2009, according to presidential visitor logs. Obama himself once trained SEIU in the 1990s.

The SEIU and other major unions, including the AFL-CIO and the Laborers’ International Union of NorthAmerica, already announced they will partner with Occupy Wall Street for Thursday’s protests.

Soros center ties to Thursday’s scheduled chaos

Official resources for Thursday’s event provided in the Occupy site include several manuals from the Ruckus Society, which trains radical activists in “direct action” techniques. Ruckus helped to spark the 1999 World Trade Organization protests in Seattle that turned violent.

The Ruckus manuals provided at the Occupy site are titled “Blockading for Beginners,” “Anonymous Riot Guide,” “50 Crucial Points for Nonviolent Struggle,” “Define White Supremacy,” “Imperialism the 2-Faced Monster,” “Uncle Sam the Pusher Man” and the Communist Party-connected National Lawyers Guild’s “Legal Observer Manual.”

Ruckus is also listed as a “friend and partner” of Thursday’s scheduled Occupy Days of Action.

Ruckus is funded by the Tides Center, which has been involved in Occupy since the movement’s onset.

Another grantee of Tides is the Adbusters magazine, which is reported to have come up with the Occupy Wall Street idea after Arab Spring protests toppled governments in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia. The Adbusters website serves as a central hub for Occupy’s planning.

MoveOn.org, which has joined Occupy, is funded by Tides

Fenton Communications, an extremist-led outfit that crafts the public relations strategy of Tides grantees, has come under newfound scrutiny after WND published a series of exposés tying it to Occupy Wall Street. One of its senior employees represented the anti-Wall Street march past millionaires’ homes in New York last month.
